The Kamuning area use to reach up to the so-called "Scout Area". Barangay Sacred Heart is formerly a portion of Kamuning until the early 1960's and that's why some of the places in the Scout Area are named after Kamuning, like the Kamuning Elementary School (my alma mater ^_^). The SVD Church in Scout Ybardolaza was also known as the "Sacred Heart Parish Church in Kamuning.
Now strictly speaking, when we talk about Barangay Kamuning, we can only refer to the land within these boundaries:
Meralco Botocan Transmission line on the north, Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) on the east, Lagarian Creek on the south-south west, and Tomas Morato Street on the north-west
Our Barangay Captain: Jayson G. Encomienda
(As far as I can remember, I think former Brgy. Captain Feliciano Espiritu has served the Barangay longest?).
Our Barangay Office Address & Contact No.:
No. 113 Kamuning Road, Quezon CityTel. No.: (02) 922-67-60
How to go to our Barangay Hall:
The Barangay Hall/Office of Kamuning is accessible by jeepney transport. It is two (2) blocks away from EDSA Highway (around 2-minutes walk). Coming from EDSA, it is located on the right side of Kamuning Road.
Jeepney Routes that pass here are:
- Project 2 & 3 going to Welcome (and vice versa)
- Project 2 & 3 going to Pantranco (and vice versa)
- Project 2 & 3 going to Quiapo, Pier, Kalaw (and vice versa)
